Opal Care Instructions

Opals are an investment for life. To get the best out of your opal jewellery, we've prepared the following care instructions:

• Treat opal like glass - to prevent scratching the opal, damaging the setting, or losing stones, remove opal jewellery when bathing, sleeping, swimming, performing household chores or in other situations likely to result in rough treatment, extreme heat, cold or temperature changes
• Clean opal with a soft gold or silver cloth, appropriate to the setting. Avoid household and jewellery cleaning chemicals, oils, or ultrasonic cleaners
• We recommend that claw set items should be checked by a professional jeweller every six months to avoid loss of stones
